We off GIRL TALK, a mother/daughter program for girls who are 9-12 years old and their mothers (or another significant woman). The program promotes mother/daughter communication related to issues of growing up and making appropriate choices. Female anatomy and physiology are taught at an age-appropriate level dealing primarily with menstruation. The female menstrual cycle is explained in a positive way as a symphony of seasons in a woman' life. GIRL TALK is followed by GIRL TALK - THE NEXT STEP. This program is for girls and their mothers who have already attended GIRL TALK. The program is offered twice a year. This program reviews material related to girls and adds information about boys' development. Sexual intercourse is explained. Mothers and daughters communicate about appropriate behavior and decision-making.
I am a childbirth educator and am available to do individual childbirth education for those girls who cannot get into a class or who would rather learn on an individual basis. |

St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) operates the largest thrift shop in the Green Bay area. The store is open to the public. SVdP's Personal Service Center (PSC) provides vouchers to low-income, needy families/individuals for clothing, furniture and household items. SVdP also provides emergency assistance with rent, utilities, prescriptions/medical supplies, transportation, etc., when all other “mainstream” resources have been exhausted.
Typically, vouchers are not available for narcotic and/or psychotropic medications and, unless special circumstances exist, this is a one-time assistance. An interview for assistance is required to determine eligibility.
PSC "walk-in" hours ( no appointment needed) are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from
10:00am to 1:00pm and 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday. The office is closed to “walk-ins” on Thursday.
For persons working and/or in school, or for those coming in with a case worker, appointments can be made by contacting our office @ 432-2579.
